if patient had fever, chills, unable to urinate, developed redness at incision site, or if pain is worsening, distention of abdomen, any discharge from port site you should contact the surgeon.

Patient can resume their activities more quickly then open surgery. If you are a sedentary worker then you can return to work early otherwise two weeks.

As soon as you recover from anesthesia, you should try to move, This helps to get rid of gas trapped in abdomen and reduce risk of pneumonia. And also avoid lifting weight and vigorous exercise for at least 14 days after surgery.

If everything goes well than patient can take bath after 48 hrs Getting into the bath tub or swimming pool is dangerous for first week after the surgery as soaking the recent incision under water pressure could increase chance of developing infection.

After operation incision are covered with sterile dressing. After 48hrs they can be removed.

You can eat within 12 hours. Liquid diet. After 12 hrs. you can eat everything if no vomiting takes place.

After the incision has healed there will be small scar which will become less and less noticeable after few months.

Although laparoscopic surgery has very less post operative pain as compared to open procedure patient may experience pain at the site of wound or in one or both shoulders which is caused by CO2 irritating the diaphragm. It can be cure by giving injection.
